Ged is an Architect Principal at BDP and leads the architect profession group in BDP’s Manchester Studio. He is also currently the President of the Manchester Society of Architects.
His work is primarily focused upon Healthcare and he has extensive knowledge and experience of leading the design and delivery of major and complex projects in that sector in both the UK and abroad from initial concept stage through to completion.
He was an Architect Director for the new BREEAM Excellent £375 million Southmead Hospital Brunel Building Project in Bristol, which recently won the European Healthcare Design Award. He was also the project director for the National RICS and RIBA Award winning new Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. The project also won the Healthcare Estates, Building Better Healthcare and the European Healthcare Design Awards building of the year amongst many others.
He is currently the Project Director for the new Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, which will transform cancer services in the Merseyside region. The project has just commenced on site and represents a unique opportunity to create an iconic building, to reflect the importance of the facility to the wider community it serves.
Ged is also an active member of the RIBA Places Matter North West Design Review panel and in 2015 he was appointed as a Built Environment Expert (BEE) by Design Council Cabe.
