Jill Worrall is a director of David Whitehead & Sons, founded by Peter, Thomas & David Whitehead in Lancashire in 1815. The firm is best known for its iconic designs from the 1950s when their designers included Terence Conran, Henry Moore, John Piper, Marian Mahler and Jacqueline Groag.
The firm has changed hands several times since those times. Jill’s husband Bernard Laverty lead a management buyout of the company in 1996. In 2015, in celebration of their bicentenary, Whiteheads reissued a handful of those famous designs on furnishing fabrics. Last year they released a range of silk scarves.
