Katy Cowan is the founding editor of Creative Boom, one of the UK’s leading platforms dedicated to the creative industries. A graduate in Journalism, she launched her magazine in 2009 following the global economic crisis with a mission to celebrate and support artists and designers. Today, her site delivers inspiration, insight and advice to four million creative professionals every year.

With more than 20 years’ experience in publishing and marketing, Katy is also a senior communications consultant and one of the co-founders of Boomerang, a Manchester-based digital studio with clients including BBC and Manchester City Football Club. She also occasionally writes for The Guardian and other leading publications in the creative industries. In early 2020, Katy returned to her roots in broadcast journalism to launch and host Creative Boom’s new chart-topping podcast.
