Ladies Wine and Design was initially started in NYC by Jessica Walsh after she noticed how few female Creative Directors there were. The idea was to create a supportive network that fosters and champions creative talent as one way to begin to address this.
In Manchester (LWD MCR) Dani Molyneux and Danielle Gaboury run a conversation series with a variety of themes and sessions — all enabling our growing community to form connections and create a support network while picking up some practical skills and/or advice on the way.
We’re very excited to be bringing a taster of this to Design Manchester by hosting two conversation sessions with some fabulous creatives designed to provoke debate and discussion:
Developing a Style
Aleesha Nandhra (illustrator and printmaker)
Helen Musselwhite (paper artist)
Creating/Creative Communities
Jane Bowyer (designer/illustrator and curator/creator of Women in Print)
Kiara Mohamed (multidisciplinary artist and director of Black Flowers) with Amber Akaunu and Fauziya Johnson (co-founders of Rooted Zine)
